We are very proud to share the news – Kovačević Brut 2012 was declared the best sparkling wine at the prestigious Kvarner International Wine Trophy in Vrbnik! With a total of 260 wines from 6 countries, it was the sparkling wine Brut Kovačević (harvest 2012) that won the title, confirming its top quality and distinctive style.

A sparkling moment to remember

The best wines from this evaluation will be presented at the international eno-gastrofestival WineRi in Rijeka, on March 21, 2025. It will be an opportunity to present the wines that have delighted experts to lovers of top tastes, in an atmosphere that celebrates the richness and diversity of the wine scene. Also, selected Kvarner wines will be on the wine lists of renowned restaurants in the region, giving wine lovers the opportunity to enjoy top labels.

The art of patience

Kovačević Brut 2012 was produced using the traditional “champagne method” (Méthode Champenoise), which involves secondary fermentation directly in the bottle, which achieves the finest perlage and complexity of aromas. This method is characteristic of the world’s most prestigious sparkling wines.

The wine is aged in the bottle for the next 10 years, on the lees of yeast that refines the aroma and texture of the wine, giving it additional complexity, a creamy structure and elegant toasted and nutty notes. Long-term maturation with this method enables the development of a rich aromatic spectrum, comparable to the world’s best sparkling wines.
