Miroslav Kovačević did not achieve success overnight. In his family, he had experienced masters of the wine trade who instructed him in many secrets of wine making. He inherited a passion for viticulture from his father and grandfather, and he successfully transfers all the valuable lessons, skills and love for viticulture to all his employees.
Looking at numerous projects aimed at the development of the winery and wine tourism in Fruška Gora, Miroslav Kovačević invests considerable effort in the revitalization and improvement of the Fruška Gora region. From the complete reconstruction of the historic Cellar in Iriga in 1930, the complete transition to organic production, all the way to the ambitious entry into the world of orange wines and wines produced in amphorae – they reflect Miroslav’s deep commitment to the preservation of tradition and constant innovation in the vineyards of Fruška Gora.
“The market has changed, for example the younger audience has started appreciating quality and novelty, which is a very interesting story for us. The big challenge is to bring traditional tastes to that same young audience in an original way, and I think that’s a great potential. “

The basic philosophy of our winery is reflected in the production of high quality wine, in a specific, recognizable style.
He has been building his knowledge as well as the quality of wine together with Miroslava for a decade. He received support for his ideas and the simplicity of the concepts from the market itself, where he is supported by a team of young people to whom he imparts his knowledge and experiences.

A lover of simplicity and emphasizing the naturalness of the variety itself. Where his biggest challenge is to combine market tastes with the complexity of wine. Developing the character of the variety through the stages is Dušan’s specialty.

Slavica Tešić, director of primary production at Kovačević Winery, began her passion for fruit growing and viticulture in 2007 at the Faculty of Agriculture in Novi Sad. After completing her studies, she gained practical experience in a nearby orchard, going through all the key stages in apple production. She then worked in the vineyards of the cooperative winery Kovačević on Fruška Gora, where her dedication and expertise soon attracted the attention of our team. She was invited to join the organic production project, and from 2020 she holds the prestigious title of director of primary production. Interestingly, she only wrote her CV once and never sent it. Today, we are proud that Slavica is part of our team, contributing to the quality and success of our winery.
